Summer Holidays

If you are thinking of going on a trip somewhere where the sun is shining and the temperature is super-hot, homeopathy can help you during your holiday.

Although the sun is wonderful and brings many health benefits, it is necessary to keep some precautions in mind, especially if you are not used to the intense heat, as fluids and vital salts reserved in our body decreases when we sweat eliminating the nutrients we need to function well. As a result, problems such as dehydration, exhaustion and, if not careful enough, possible heat stroke can occur. Therefore, I have listed some important remedies that you must have in your emergency kit as they can help you in these moments, especially if you are travelling with your children. Trust me, they have been gold for my family, particularly my husband who believe it or not, never learns!!!

Belladonna 30c: excellent remedy for heat stroke and dehydration. Highly recommended for headaches after exposure to the sun, especially if the symptoms are a frontal throbbing headache on the right side. Skin symptoms can be warmth, redness, and burning.

Natrum Muriaticum 30c: this remedy is also very good for headache after a long time in the sun. This remedy has particular symptoms such as throbbing pain and worse, moving the head and eyeball.

Sol Britannic 30C: this remedy is indicated to avoid sunburn, so it is recommended to take it before exposure to the sun and repeat it every hour while exposed to the sun. This remedy can also be used to aid in recovery from sunburn.

Apis 30c: very good for burns with watery blisters and swelling. It is important to take this remedy as soon as watery blisters begin to form.

Urtica 30c: excellent if the sunburn has symptoms such as itching and burning.

Cantharis 30c: also excellent for sunburn and watery blisters that improve with icy applications.

Calendula homeopathic cream: it cannot be missing from your emergency kit, as it is excellent to apply to the skin after sunburn. Organic Aloe Vera gel is another one to add to your kit.

Here are some important tips to help you during the summer holidays:

  • Avoid exposing yourself to the sun during peak hours.

  • Wear UV-protective swimwear and hats.

  • Please try to avoid using any sunscreen because many of them contain chemicals which can be dangerous to your skin. If you must, then use sunscreen that does not contain carcinogenic ingredients, such as mineral sunscreen with a formula other than nano zinc. Why, not nano zinc? Because nano zinc particles are so small and tiny that they will be absorbed into the skin and therefore penetrate the bloodstream. Non-nano zinc, on the other hand, remains on the surface of the skin, functioning as a protective barrier. If you live in the UK, I suggest the sunscreen, Soleil from Baie Botanique.

  • If you want to get a tan, it is important that you train your skin gently, and always at appropriate times.

Wishing you a happy holiday!
